Our water-based Tough Coat sealer is available in two sheens: Matte and Gloss. It is non-yellowing and works beautifully on whites and light colors, making it an excellent choice for high-traffic surfaces like tabletops and kitchen cabinets. Easy to apply with our Applicator Sponge, it ensures a smooth, streak-free finish.
For optimal protection on frequently cleaned surfaces, a topcoat like Tough Coat is recommended. While it can be used over darker colors, applying thin, even coats is key to avoiding any cloudiness that may occur with water-based finishes on darker shades.
Note: Water-based top coats may pull tannins from certain woods, such as Cherry or Mahogany. To prevent this, we recommend priming with a shellac-based primer as part of your preparation process.
